The band of heroes left for the swamp to try to harness the power of the Fane. Lox, Cyrus, Kivari and Hennan the Barovian Watchman set out across the countryside to find themselves making camp deep in the hills of the Slavlich Woods. Just after dusk on the first night the band was barraged by a conclave of vampire spawns. As usual it was Kivari to the rescue, a few Turn UnDead attempts the conclave was no more.
The next day was spent hiking downhill along the Ivlis River in route of the dreaded Ivlis Marsh. The party arrived at the swamp around dusk, so it was thought best to camp on the outskirts of the bog. Once again the party was invaded, but this time a troupe of Worgs during the night, though they weren’t too much of an issue and was quickly dispatched.The following morning they made the trek into the swamp to find the Fane. The first stage brought 
the party to the edges of the deep waters of the marsh and came upon a swarm of vampirism bugs. Lox did, actually, suggested to Kivari to “Turn” them, they proved to be no match for the might of Pelor. But that wasn’t all; now, the Shambling Mound on the other hand was a different story. Though lucky for the Heroes, Hennan was slicker than a greased pig and thwarted all grapple attempts by the mound and eventually we managed to put down swamp thing.

All in all they did pretty well and emerged relatively unscathed... but that was the end of their lucky streak. En route to the Fane they came across three swamp eel/leach things. Normally that wouldn't be too much of an issue, except for the fact they sucked out their constitution faster than a soccer mom sucks down a fat free iced mocha frappucino with extra whipped cream. After they managed to kill two of them, we had to sort of surrender to her in order to get the Con sucking leaches off Kivari.
On dry land, the Hag had us drop the party’s weapons and surrender to he
r, which they all did sort of. Fed up, Cyrus picked his twin axes up rushed the Hag. Though as it turns out, the leaches had no problem leaving the murky waters of swamp and the last leach leaped on Cyrus as he rushed in. The heroes finally managed to kill the last leach, while the hag retreated to the safety of the swamp's deep waters to recover. Once they finished off the leach they still had the hag to content with, and realized they had no chance and once again surrendered to her.
